In life there are numerous mysteries that, unsolvable, continue to tease the mind of man. Who built the pyramids? What was the purpose of Stonehenge? How can anyone vote for Frank Lautenberg? Forgetting the fact that in 2002, Lautenberg was allowed to be elected in clear violation of the NJ Constitution, why is it that he is so successful in NJ? Why is it that he continues to lead the Republican candidate by up to 20 points?
Congressional Quarterly studied all of the Senate’s roll-call votes from 2001 through this year and has determined that Lautenberg is tied for the title of the Nation's most partisan senator, having voted with his party 98% of the time. So is it partisanship that allows Frank the Fossil to continue to reign supreme? Perhaps, but I don't think partisanship is the sole reason, as state Republicans have drunk the liberal Kool-Aid as well. In New Jersey, you will find that most of the GOP candidates support tougher gun control laws, embryonic stem cell research, global warming research, and all of the other progressive crusades that plague the United States. It has to be something other than a person's party. Perhaps it is because a vote for Lautenberg is also a vote for money - and plenty of it.
While browsing through PolitickerNJ.com, in only the month of October, Senators Lautenburg & Menendez have announced: $2 million to improve NJ highway safety, $2.5 million for NJ coastal management research, $10 million for transportation improvements in Ridgewood, $1.2 million for the Asbury Park Fire Department, $2.1 million for transportation improvements in northern NJ, $157,000 for airport improvements in Millville and Cape May, $100,000 for an economic development program (in order to find out why 800,000 jobs in NJ have been lost this year – here's a hint why), $1 million for NJ traffic safety programs, $4 million for climate research projects at Princeton University, and $2.3 million for the Newark and Teterboro Airports. That is over $25 million in taxpayer money in a month where the government has already spent nearly $2 trillion in bailouts!
Lautenberg himself has been a part of such great spending projects as $4.8 million for WOOD research ($90.5 million since 1985), a $300 billion Farm Bill, the $389 million Bridge to Nowhere in Alaska, a $225,000 pamphlet on beaver damage, the Teapot Museum in North Carolina, the EarthPark indoor rainforest in Iowa, the Frank R. Lautenberg Train Station, and the Camden-Philadelphia aerial tram project. He's also played a major role in the $1.5 billion railroad reauthorization bill that will fund the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (the Nation’s wealthiest metropolitan area). His re-election campaign also brags how he was able to get $13 billion over the next five years for Amtrak, intercity passenger rail and high speed rail programs, including the rail lines used by NJ transit. Look at all of that green – and that's only what I could see with a quick browse of the press releases for October! If you want to cry even more, think about how many other politicians are doing the same exact thing with your tax dollars!
This man has been in the Senate almost non-stop since 1982 – when I was five (I'm now 31). In that time period, he had to have made plenty of friends in the political and social world, right? Again, with only a quick browse of press releases for the month of October, Lautenberg has been endorsed by the NJ State Industrial Union Council, the New Jersey Citizen Action's Political Action Committee, the Laborers' International Union, the Human Rights Campaign (which is the nation's largest gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender civil rights organization), and the Council for a Livable World, praising his opposition to the Iraq War, bunker buster bombs, and John Bolton's nomination to be Ambassador to the United Nations. They also like how he voted to cut missile defense funding and to increase funding for the United Nations! He's also supported by the New Jersey State AFL-CIO, the Brady Campaign, and the NJ Environmental Federation – to quote the senator: "New Jerseyans know I'm standing strong for them fighting to prevent Big Oil from drilling off our shores, keep our water clean, and tackle global warming...and designating the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge as wilderness and preventing drilling and exploration there.” He's also supported by the American Federation of Teachers and the Planned Parenthood Action Fund of New Jersey (PPAF-NJ). Much like Obama, the unions love Lautenberg.
This is the price of slavery in America. When we ignore massive government spending and support taxpayers from around the country being forced to pay for improving NJ Transit and the Asbury Park Fire Department, then we have lost our souls as Americans. We need to throw people like this out of our government, but since for so many voters the ends justify the means – more money for New Jersey – many voters will praise Senator Lautenberg for “fighting for us” and they'll pull the lever for him next week. That's why so many will also vote for Barack Obama, John Murtha, Dick Durban, John Kerry, and Lindsey Graham. If they bring home the bacon, some people are happy as hell to get fatter and fatter.
As for me, I don't like Dick Zimmer, either. I am voting for the Libertarian, Jason Scheurer. I will always vote for candidates that I believe stand for our Constitution.
I pray that there are still freedom-loving people in New Jersey that will ignore the dollar signs and stand up for American principles. I hope that it's not too late for New Jersey, and that one day we can continue to be the crossroads of the American Revolution, not the Soviet Revolution.

Those Sample Ballot Blues
I received our sample ballot yesterday. I already know who I am voting for in the presidential and senate races (not so much with the House race), but my interest was with the public questions.
First off, can we stop with the bilingual ballots? This poster-sized ballot is annoying enough, but you can only vote if you are a citizen, right? I thought they made you prove you could read, write, and speak English before making you a citizen. So a bilingual ballot would be unnecessary, right? Or are they full of crap?
Now, onto the questions. My local question - asking if they can create interest-bearing retirement accounts from South Bound Brook taxpayer dollars for volunteer firemen and first aid squad members that have served at least three years - yeah, I'll be voting no on that one.
State question #2 asks if we should amend the state constitution to allow certain municipal court judges to be selected and appointed through statute instead of through the constitutional process of being selected by the governor and approved by the state senate. Does anyone with a brain think this is a good idea? This would continue the NJ tradition of politicians appointing their friends and insiders to state positions. NJ will be like Mexico very soon - we continue to allow them to operate within their little bubble, doing whatever they please, and our state continues to give them the authority to do so. Vote no on this question.
Now, check out state question #1. It is the perfect example of how politicians and lawyers ruin everything they touch, making things much more complicated than they need to be. This question is one sentence long - and goes on for an entire paragraph. I'm not kidding - this one sentence is an astounding 160-words long! This is on purpose and by the time I am done reading the question, I don't even know what the hell I just read! The "interpretive statement" isn't so clear, either. After searching through the internet for a government-to-English translation, I found this great guide from the National Taxpayer's Union. It goes over the tax-related public questions nationwide and they were able to reduce the government's question into a very simple statement: Public Question 1 is an amendment to the state constitution mandating that any legislation that issues state authority bonds would require voter approval prior to its passage and execution, thereby injecting taxpayer oversight into the budgetary process.
The public question makes sure that third-parties still do not get the publics' oversight (ie - tolls), but it is a start. Forgive me for being so cynical, but something inside of me thinks this question - being so long and tedious - is a scam and is only to fool us into thinking that state government spending will now be in check. It won't be. If this was a bill proposed and I was a lawmaker, I would vote no against it and explain that it would only be acceptable if third-parties were included. Back in reality, as a citizen I will vote yes on this question.
Keep an eye on these criminals and hold their feet to the fire on every subject. Otherwise, we'll never be able to take our country back.

Either Way, We'll Survive
The absolute insanity of our government is mind-boggling. They have no clue and with a 9% approval rating, Americans have no confidence in their government, regardless of the party that is in control. The scary thing, however, is that the two sides of America are reacting in different ways. The conservatives in America, feeling their country becoming Canada (or worse – France), have mostly pulled back to worry about something more important than their government – their families. The other side has unfortunately been motivated in the other direction – into raging activism in order to promote “change” in America, even if it means creating new voters from dead ones.
Can America survive? I think that it can, because we’ve survived before. When Woodrow Wilson was in office, we were practically a police state. Opponents of World War 1 were beaten, arrested, spied on, and harassed by the government, police, and citizens of this country. He fundamentally changed our nation by creating the Federal Reserve and creating the income tax – two major reasons that we are in debt today. When Franklin Roosevelt was in office, our nation became a socialist monolith; private gold holdings were confiscated, taxes rates were so astronomical that businesses closed their doors throughout the nation, and the Depression was only stopped through the manufacturing created by World War 2. With a progressive Congress and president, our nation was held hostage until FDR passed away from a brain aneurysm. In the 1960’s, our nation was again held hostage by progressives that helped created the massive nanny state we have today. Thanks to these three presidents, with their socialist Congresses, our nation resembles our past in name only. Another socialist president - with a Congress filled with Chuck Schumer, Hillary Clinton, Barney Frank, Charlie Rangel, and other enemies of the state – will not be something that we haven’t seen before. Regardless of a McCain or Obama presidency, we will continue to have a Congress filled with idiots such as Frank who won’t understand responsibility if it jumped up and got a sub-prime loan from Freddie Mac.
This will either be something else we can recover from - a phoenix rising from the ashes of liberalism – or it could be the final nail in our coffin. If this is the last straw, what will happen to us? Look no further than our Founding Fathers. They knew that the federal government was only necessary in order to maintain the peace between our states and to provide for the common defense (in support of our militias). It was only through the presidencies of nationalists and socialists that we’ve morphed into the top-heavy socialist state that we are today.
Have no fear – if the federal government topples due to their ineptitude, the states will survive. Believing in the wisdom of patriots such as Jefferson, Washington, Henry, and Calhoun, I believe that the states – existing before the founding of our nation – can survive after the fall of our nation (if that fall were ever to occur). Truly, I do not want to see this fall occur, but I will not allow myself to be scared of it’s possibility. Without the chains of the federal government, businesses can once again build domestically – returning jobs to our people without the fear of having their profits seized. Our states can pursue domestic energy in whatever form it may take, without fear of federal restrictions or oversight. States that want to end abortion can, while those satisfied with their holocausts can continue. States will once again obtain their Constitutional right of self-determination – a right that hasn’t been truly exercised since the War Between the States, our Civil War.
The states that believe in freedom could always reestablish the Constitution and run this Nation the way it was intended. The states that believe in socialism and government-domination can, I don't know, join Canada or something.
No matter how much you dream of a sunny day, within every dark cloud there is a silver lining!

The Freedom to Kill
One of the first things President Obama will do upon taking office, after he meets with groups like ACORN, is sign the Freedom of Choice Act (FOCA) into law. I knew vaguely that this was a pro-abortion act, but I was very sketchy on the details. Here is what I have learned.
The National Abortion & Reproductive Rights Action League, or NARAL, helped explain their views on FOCA. They endorse FOCA as an act that will "guarantee the right to choose." They mention that the Bush administration has put this right "in a precarious state" through the Supreme Court decisions of Gonzales v. Carhart & Gonzales v. Planned Parenthood Federation of America. NARAL calls the Carhart case the "first ever federal ban on a safe abortion method" - never calling the method by name anywhere in their press release. This method, of course, is partial-birth abortion (PBA).
For anyone that has not discovered the horrible realities of PBA, I will briefly explain it here. The method most associated with PBA is "Intact D&X surgery (dilation & excavation)." The cervix is dilated, the baby is repositioned for a footling breech, and the baby is then pulled out of the mother up to the baby's neck. The doctor then makes an incision at the base of the baby's skull, widens the incision with a pair of scissors, and then inserts a suction catheter. The baby's skull is then excavated - everything is sucked out of the live baby - and after the skull collapses, the dead body is removed from the mother. Gonzales v. Carhart upheld the federal Partial-Birth Abortion Ban Act of 2003.
The American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) is as outraged as NARAL over this ban. On their website, they called the ban a "devastating blow to women's health, reproductive rights, and equality." They are upset that this ban does not carry a health exception and complained that the Court ruled that the "State's interest in promoting respect for human life at all stages of pregnancy could outweigh a woman's interest in protecting her own health." The ACLU acts like this is a procedure that women need in order to survive a complicated pregnancy. Since PBA only represents about .17% of the abortions in the US, I don't believe that this remains as the mother's only choice...I'm sorry, no one ever uses the term "mother" - only the term "woman."
The ACLU, like NARAL, praises Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg for her "impassioned dissent" of the Court's decision, claiming the ruling places a woman's health at risk and also undermines women's struggle for equality. I guess the only way we are truly equal is when we all share the same freedom to kill, right? Ginsberg continues that "women's ability to realize their full potential...is ultimately connected to their ability to control their reproductive lives." That's funny - I thought a woman could realize her full potential by becoming the vehicle that actually brings forth a brand new life.
The ACLU promises depressed liberals everywhere that "we must remain vigilant in our efforts to protect the right to abortion and increase women's access to the full range of reproductive health care." Rest assured, because state advocates are working hard to change the laws in the states as well. For example, in NY they are working hard to introduce a bill to create an affirmative right to abortion, contraception, and other family planning services in the state.
Speaking of "family planning," Planned Parenthood is also upset at watching their business shrink through life-saving legislation. They declare that the "right to choose continues to be threatened" and believes that "it is essential that the federal government step in to protect women's reproductive rights" since the states have so many different views about "reproductive freedom." They believe that "the freedom to choose should not be limited to women who are fortunate enough to live in a pro-choice state." You know, I think that's the whole point of having states, isn't it? Otherwise, we never would have had states to begin with! What would be the point if we were all just going to do the same thing?
Planned Parenthood's lament continues. They bemoan the fact that 87% of the counties in the US don't even have an abortion provider! Isn't that tragic? Shouldn't every county have an abortion mill so that women have the right to prove their equality by having their baby's brains sucked out? Isn't that your America? That's why Planned Parenthood also believes that we need the FOCA, because it will "protect this right by prohibiting state and federal entities from denying, interfering, or discriminating against a woman's right to have or use benefits, facilities, services, or information" in order to choose whether to terminate a pregnancy or have her child. They proudly claim - in boldface type - The legislation would invalidate existing and future laws that interfere with or discriminates against the exercise of the rights protected. It also allows someone to sue if their civil rights have been violated due to these existing laws.
Senator Barbara Boxer helps explain how wonderful the FOCA is by promising that upon the passing of this act, "a poor woman cannot be denied the use of Medicaid if she chooses to have an abortion. That means that abortions cannot be prohibited at public hospitals, giving women more choices than private clinics." Isn't that wonderful? Think of all of those discriminating Catholic hospitals that will now be forced to give abortions, paid for by your tax dollars. And if women are denied their right to choose, they can sue for that right in court. Isn't that fantastic???? I'm just curious what age a "woman" is defined as and if this right to sue carries over to a parent-child relationship. Hmmm....I guess we'll find out.
Sen. Boxer celebrates that women will no longer have to suffer attending "anti-choice propaganda lectures" whose purpose is "to discourage abortion." Doesn't being pro-choice mean that once in a while the choice can be no? Sen. Boxer also celebrates that the FOCA will allow our military women serving overseas to be able to afford safe abortions performed in military hospitals - again, at taxpayer's expense. I know that while my soldiers are busy being the world's policeman, if they decided to impregnate one another, it's good to know that they can obtain unrestricted abortions. After all, you support our troops, don't you?
Under the 108th Congress, Senator Boxer's legislation (S.2020) was co-signed by such great people as Senators Hillary Clinton, Joe Lieberman, Diane Feinstein (who promises to socialize the oil industry), and NJ's own Senator Lautenburg and then-Senator (now Governor) Jon S. Corzine. Later on, under the 110th Congress, it was resubmitted (S.1173 and H.R. 1964) with many other heavyweights signing on, such as NJ Senator Menendez and NY Senator Schumer.
Why do I bring all of this up? It is because you will be hearing about the FOCA much more as time goes on. After Obama steals the election, he will make it a point to allow as much pro-abortion legislation to pass as possible. In his statement on the 35th anniversary of the Roe v. Wade decision, he says, "Throughout my career, I've been a consistent and strong supporter of reproductive justice and have consistently had a 100% pro-choice rating with Planned Parenthood and NARAL Pro-Choice America." He brags how when South Dakota banned all abortions, he was the only presidential candidate "to raise money to help the citizens of South Dakota repeal that law." He continues that "when anti-choice protesters blocked the opening of an Illinois Planned Parenthood clinic in a community where affordable health care is in short supply, I was the only candidate for President who spoke out against it. And I will continue to defend this right by passing the Freedom of Choice Act as president."
President Obama continues with saying that Roe v. Wade isn't only about abortion - it's about equality. He said, "It's about whether our daughters are going to have the same opportunities as our sons." He said reproductive freedom is needed so that women can free themselves from violent relationships - killing your baby can help you do that? What the hell is this guy even talking about? He closes by saying that we need to "build a future that's filled with hope and possibility for all Americans." That way, I guess no one will be punished with a baby.
Everyone who is against Obama already knows what this guy stands for - the ties to a domestic terrorist, communists, black supremacists, embezzlers, and voter fraud. We know his snobbish reaction to small town America and are preparing for the accusations of racism to be reared against everyone that disagrees with Obama's decisions. We already know this man's hatred for life through his reaction to legislation in the Illinois Statehouse when he opposed legislation that would provide medical care for baby's born from failed abortions, that would allow parents to sue in order to protect their child's rights, and that if a child was extracted alive from its mother - a failed PBA - that the child would be considered "a human being." He was against all three of these measures. We know he is a monster.
So why write this essay? Because not only does the FOCA open the door for unrestricted abortions - for citizens and non-citizens and many times at taxpayer's expense - and not only will it allow the barbaric practice of PBA again, but it will completely usurp the Tenth Amendment of the United States Constitution, denying the states to pass any legislation that would violate the FOCA. This ignorance of the Constitution, coupled with some people's hatred for human life, is a potent combination, but do not be compelled to think that voting for a Republican will solve the issue. Leonard Lance, the Republican in my district's House race, was given a rating of 82 out of 100 by the Family Planning Advocates of New Jersey, a lobbyist group for Planned Parenthood. Research your candidates before you vote for them. Do not equate Republican with Pro-Life.
There are safeguards. The Constitution gives Congress the authority to remove jurisdiction from the Supreme Court and send the issue back to the states. Our Founders believed in separate, equal branches of government - the Supreme Court does not have the final say as long as our Congress does its job. Elect politicians that are strict Constitutionalists and you can help reduce the power and impact of the Supreme Court - then we will no longer hear the mantra that we need to vote Republican because "think of the Supreme Court."
In closing, we need to remember another lesson of history. One of the biggest abuses of the King of England upon our colonies was that he would arbitrarily nullify laws passed in the colonies, imposing the National law upon them instead. In our Declaration of Independence, we revolted from the government "For taking away our Charters, abolishing our most valuable Laws, and altering fundamentally the Forms of our Governments: For suspending our own Legislatures, and declaring themselves invested with power to legislate for us in all cases whatsoever."
The Freedom of Choice Act, among many others, continues to abuse our states in the same way that the King abused the colonies. Through the FOCA, the federal government is openly promising to override state legislatures. The Legislative Branch is openly promising to override the Judicial Branch. With politicians such as these, there are no longer checks and balances in our system, and I fear that, like in 1775 and in 1860, our established government is on the verge of splintering at the seams. If that day ever comes, we must remember acts such as these when deciding from upon which side we will stand.

cObamunism
Americans need to prepare themselves for the post-election world. If Obama wins, we’re going to lose a tremendous amount of our freedoms. If Obama loses, we’re going to hear how horribly racist we are – not that we haven’t heard that before.
How can a man spend more money than most Nations have, only to lead by a few percentage points? Yes, I know the standard answer is racism, but let’s honestly think about that for a moment. Most Americans have figured out that he isn't any good. Now, add to that thought the fact that Obama may have an even smaller lead than previously realized. That is because there is an amazing amount of fraud being perpetrated around the country – all to get Lord Obama elected.
An ACORN office in Missouri has been reported for voter fraud. The co-director of Jackson County’s election board (where Kansas City is located) said, "We have identified about 100 duplicates, and probably 280 addresses that don't exist, people who have driver's license numbers that won't verify or Social Security numbers that won't verify. Some have no address at all." ACORN’s Cleveland location is under investigation for the same thing. Three people that have been subpoenaed in the case have admitted multiple registrations. One man registered 10 to 15 times. Another person said she would register without putting her address down and testified that even if you told ACORN you registered, they would follow you everywhere until you did it again. A third witness in the case registered 72 times over an 18-month span. ACORN’s Las Vegas office was raided in what their director called a “politically-motivated stunt.” The State of Nevada claims that ACORN hired 59 felons through a work-release program as canvassers. They have also been accused of submitting almost 300 fraudulent voter registration cards. These cards included addresses and names that do not exist in Nevada, duplicate registrations, names taken from telephone books and even names of Dallas Cowboys players. One ex-employee claimed that she made up names on days that it was too hot to go out. And according to the latest reports, a voter registration card in Florida, stamped by ACORN, was sent in to register…Mickey Mouse. In the Houston area, over 4,000 dead people are on the list of voters. But remember, all of these investigations are politically motivated.
On Obama’s campaign website, they make the claim “Fact: Barack was never an ACORN trainer and never worked for ACORN in any other capacity.” But a 2004 article written for the journal Social Policy by ACORN leader Toni Foulkes claims otherwise: “Obama took the case, known as ACORN vs. Edgar (the name of the Republican governor at the time) and we won. Obama then went on to run a voter registration project with Project VOTE in 1992 that made it possible for Carol Moseley Braun to win the Senate that year. Project VOTE delivered 50,000 newly registered voters in that campaign (ACORN delivered about 5,000 of them). Since then, we have invited Obama to our leadership training sessions to run the session on power every year, and, as a result, many of our newly developing leaders got to know him before he ever ran for office. Thus it was natural for many of us to be active volunteers in his first campaign for State Senate and then his failed bid for U.S. Congress in 1996. By the time he ran for U.S. Senate, we were old friends." Since then, his website changed to say, “Fact: ACORN never hired Obama as a trainer, organizer, or any type of employee.” So now he never even worked for them, eh? Well, he may not have worked with them in the past, but you can bet he'll be working with them in the future. He promised, "During the transition we're going to be calling all of you in to help us shape the agenda. We're going to be having meetings all across the country with community organizations so that you have input into the agenda for the next presidency of the United States of America."
Voter fraud is everywhere. In Florida, more than 30,000 convicted felons remain registered to vote in this year’s presidential election even though Florida’s constitution bars them of that right. Who will they be more likely to vote for?
If these criminal tactics work, Obama will win this election. The press, originally encouraged to keep the government honest, gladly partakes in this massive fraud. If Obama wins, the world and media will celebrate “change” coming to America: cObamunism. They will all pretend that this is what America wanted – after all, we voted for him.
On the other hand, any loss by Obama would be painted as further proof of America being controlled by racist, bitter white people clinging to God and their guns. The government stole the election for the Republicans again – just look at their abuse of poor, little ACORN. Either-or, we’re bent over every which way to Sunday.
But never fear – if ACORN can’t steal the election this November, they’ll just do it next time. Do you remember that fantastic bailout for Freddie and Fannie? Well, good ol’ Barney Frank added in language that gives $420 from every $100,000 mortgage to ACORN, as well as La Raza and other anti-US organizations. So they'll have plenty of money to build more offices and hire more "activists." Thanks, Barn!
The people will be able to stop our runaway government by changing the vermin we have in Congress. Until we do that, with or without Obama, freedom is lost.

Power & Privilege
One of the most ignored stories in America is that the federal government, for the first time since the Civil War, has authorized the national military to be used against US citizens. Groups like the John Birch Society and Stand Up NJ are helping spread the word about this increase in federal authority. As first reported in the Army Times, President Bush has authorized the creation of the Consequence Management Response Force. This unit will be used as “an on-call federal response force for natural or manmade emergencies and disasters, including terrorist attacks,” and “may be called upon to help with civil unrest and crowd control.”
After the Civil War, when the South was an occupied territory ruled under martial law, the Posse Comitatus Act was passed upon the completion of Reconstruction. Passed in 1878, it basically forbids the use of federal forces for law enforcement. Chuck Baldwin, who promises the restoration of Posse Comitatus if elected, explained in his latest column that this Act, wiped out by President Bush in 2006, was actually restored by the Democratic Congress in the National Defense Authorization Act of 2008. Unfortunately for Americans, when the president signs an act into law, he technically has the authority to attach a “signing statement” to the bill. These signing statements are being used as executive orders – almost like having a line-item veto without changing the Constitution. When President Bush signed the National Defense Authorization Act, his signing statement announced that the Executive Branch would not be bound by Posse Comitatus. Just a few months later, we have the creation of the Consequence Management Response Force.
Federal encroachment of our rights doesn’t stop with this military police force, as FEMA is gaining authority as well. As any witnesses to the Hurricane Katrina aftermath can attest to, lawful gun owners were disarmed and left defenseless as bands of robbers, killers, and rapists ruled the city of New Orleans. Instead of allowing citizens to retain their Second Amendment rights during natural disasters, FEMA would be given authority to run traffic controls, crowd control, curfews, enhanced border and port security, and neighborhood patrols in the event a national emergency being declared. President Bush has also increased the powers of the FBI, allowing the agency to preemptively investigate people or groups, even without any direct evidence of wrongdoing.
Like many solutions we think up, this could easily be viewed as an essential part to our national security. But in the same way, this opens the door for tremendous abuse by any president that decides to use the Army for their personal means. We already have the testimony of two former military agents that the government tapped into their private conversations.
Leaders like Chavez, Hussein, Putin, and Kim Jong-Il enjoy the political freedom of having the military at their fingertips. With a Congressional approval rating of 9%, an angry electorate that is constantly ignored, a government that is devaluing our currency and spending us into oblivion, and national leaders bent on socialism and military interventionism around the world, one can easily see the military being used to squelch the angry citizenry. This doesn’t just affect conservatives, either. Imagine the Army coming in to “restore peace” to areas upset if Lord Obama loses his presidential bid or to break up peaceful protests of government policies.
As the government continues to ignore us, raise our taxes, inflate our currency, make us hostages to foreign energy and foreign banks, leave our borders wide open, and abuse its power, the government will respond against angry citizens. Protests could easily be broken up under the power of this law. Guns can be taken away permanently. Our freedoms can be taken away in the name of national security. Imagine these laws in the hands of a president you do not support or trust. Imagine the Patriot Act, NSA wiretaps, and the Consequence Management Response Force under President Obama or President Bloomberg. I wouldn’t even want President Reagan to have these powers - no leader should.
Let us depart with the haunting words of Alexander Hamilton in Federalist Paper No. 26. Like always, our Founders warned us against abuses such as these: Schemes to subvert the liberties of a great community REQUIRE TIME to mature them for execution. An army, so large as seriously to menace those liberties, could only be formed by progressive augmentations; which would suppose, not merely a temporary combination between the legislature and executive, but a continued conspiracy for a series of time. Is it probable that such a combination would exist at all? Is it probable that it would be persevered in, and transmitted along through all the successive variations in a representative body, which biennial elections would naturally produce in both houses? Is it presumable, that every man, the instant he took his seat in the national Senate or House of Representatives, would commence a traitor to his constituents and to his country? Can it be supposed that there would not be found one man, discerning enough to detect so atrocious a conspiracy, or bold or honest enough to apprise his constituents of their danger? If such presumptions can fairly be made, there ought at once to be an end of all delegated authority. The people should resolve to recall all the powers they have heretofore parted with out of their own hands, and to divide themselves into as many States as there are counties, in order that they may be able to manage their own concerns in person.

To the Honorable Mike Ferguson:
According to your press release, you believe the original House bailout legislation was putting America’s interest first. It gives unlimited power to the Treasury Secretary and gives US taxpayer money to local, state, and union pensions. If you truly believe this usurpation of power and abandonment of capitalism is putting America’s interest first, then I couldn’t be more thankful that you’re retiring.
Instead of using existing laws, like our bankruptcy laws, you are one of countless Congressmen that believe throwing money at a situation will fix things. This system needs a correction, not a bailout. You are not looking at the situation through the eyes of capitalism and your vote needs to be well informed. Yes, something needs to be done – but it is NOT this bailout.
I do not support this new version of the bailout. I urge you to vote No and instead show leadership by drafting and submitting truly helpful legislation that would purge our system and rebuild it stronger than ever. This bailout not only tremendously inflates our dollar, but also increases the debts of this country higher and higher until our own Nation will require a bailout, threatening our sovereignty. If this is your plan, you are well on your way. If you are not trying to destroy our Nation, then please vote No and truly put America’s interest first.

The Goldman-Sachs Connection
A friend of ours works for Goldman Sachs. I wasn't very sure why, but I always looked at that bank with reserved concern. I knew something wasn't right, but could never really figure out what.
Dots are now starting to connect. At last week's Constitution Party rally, VP-candidate Darrell Castle mentioned that Goldman Sachs was the world's leading source of oil speculators, the people that help drive up the price of oil. I want to look into this bank from reliable sources because the more things are falling apart in our financial world, the stronger and more in control Goldman Sachs seems to become.
Look at our Secretary of the Treasury, Henry Paulson - a former CEO of GS. Once you start looking into how deeply embedded GS is with our economic and trade policies, one should be concerned that one of the bank's former CEO's could have such an influencial position - especially since the Treasury depends on our banks in order to survive.
Look at recent federal/GS relationships. In the 1990s, a $50 billion bailout for the Mexican peso was requested of Congress by Clinton's Treasury Secretary Rick Ruben - a former co-chairman of Goldman Sachs. As co-chair, Ruben had been making $26 million a year, plus held over $100 million in Goldman Sachs. It turns out, Ruben's financial position was thanks to clients in Mexico. Now that they were defaulting on loans, a bailout via the US Congress would save the situation. Conflict of interest?
Now for Paulson - before joining Bush's cabinet, he had made millions for GS in Communist China, taking over 70 trips in little over ten years. In 2006, GS bought China's largest bank for $2.58 billion; making CEO Paulson around $25 million richer.
If this bailout bill gets to the president, he will sign it. That will now make the Treasury Secretary one of the most powerful people on the planet by giving that position unlimited power to seize assets, rewrite loan conditions, and expand our bailouts as large as necessary.
If Obama wins the presidency, the most common name kicked around for Obama's Treasury Secretary is NJ's own Governor Jon Corzine - a former CEO of Goldman Sachs.
Are you connecting the dots, too?

My Letter to the Government
The Honorable Mr. Blah-blah-blah:
Our Nation finds itself in a horrible situation. Due to the corruption of certain institutions of Wall Street, and the politically correct pressure that the federal government has forced upon our banks, we are now faced with the situation of bailing out these companies.
I am against the bailout. The $700 billion price tag is unrealistic and will cost American taxpayers trillions in the end. The continual printing of more dollars will inflate our currency to levels unheard of by today’s generation. Our Nation, and the world, will eventually regret the philosophical damage that will be done to capitalism and the free market system. Make no mistake; the situation we face today is due to corporate greed and the constant bureaucratic nonsense that is always created by government and special interests.
The saddest part of this is that I know my government all too well. You treat our money like it was your money and you spend it any way you see fit, regardless of what the People believe. So I expect you to ignore the People and reward corruption with a bailout. I understand that we will be stopping capitalism from working, allowing our economy to purge itself of its weaknesses. If Congress and the president truly cared about our economic situation, you would allow this to happen so that our economy can reestablish itself stronger. If Congress and the president truly cared about our economic situation, you would also end all unnecessary spending, as well. But as I have said before, I know my government all too well.
Therefore, I ask that you establish yourself as a leader in this situation. Do not allow the same pitfalls to occur. If we look at last week as an economic version of Hurricane Katrina, your bailout plan resembles the idiocy of not rebuilding the levies to withstand another Katrina-sized storm. As a leader, you should demand that the government begin reporting M3-class data again. We need an accurate count of the dollars in our system. The way we currently measure inflation and our GDP are horribly misleading and our economy will always be weak as long as these fuzzy numbers continue to be passed on as gospel. As a leader, I also ask that you take a stand and demand that Congress dismantle the Federal Reserve System and return US currency to a gold standard. A leading contributor to our economic weakness is the fact that our currency and our economic measurements are exaggerated, half-reported, or ignored.
Without taking at least these steps, any bailout you consider will be a half-measure, wasting more of our money and time. It will be just another example of government throwing money at a problem, hoping it will go away. It will remain as another immoral debt that you will be passing on to generations of future Americans – that is, if America survives the ineptitude of our government’s decisions.
I passionately ask you to do the right thing and rebuild our economy the right way. But like I’ve already said, unfortunately, I know my government all too well.
Sincerely,

Don't Trust the Banks

Our Founders have left behind a library of their thoughts and many thanks must go out to the people that have assisted in creating collections of their works. More of these words can be found in books like The 5,000-Year Leap and from constitutional experts such as Chuck Baldwin.
Some of our past national leaders understood that once our financial system was in control of central bankers, the nation would be held hostage at their mercy. In the past, our Nation had occasionally set up banking systems much like today's Federal Reserve - and we received the same consequences. President Jefferson said, "If the American people ever allow private banks to control the issuance of their currency, first by inflation and then by deflation, the banks and corporations that will grow up around them will deprive the people of all their property until their children will wake up homeless on the continent their fathers conquered."
Addressing a problem of the day, President Washington said, "Paper money has had the effect in [Rhode Island] that it ever will have, to ruin commerce--oppress the honest, and open the door to every species of fraud and injustice."
Banks were taking over our monetary system. Instead of Congress being in control, the banks were. Thomas Jefferson said that "banking establishments are more dangerous than standing armies." He continued that "we are overdone with banking institutions, which have banished the precious metals, and substituted a more fluctuating and unsafe medium." President Jefferson concluded, "We are completely saddled and bridled, and...the bank is so firmly mounted on us that we must go where [it] will guide."
Daniel Webster also warned, "We are in danger of being overwhelmed with irredeemable paper, mere paper, representing not gold nor silver; ...representing nothing but broken promises, bad faith, bankrupt corporations, cheated creditors, and a ruined people."
Does any of this sound familiar? Shouldn't we have learned our lesson from the past? Now, when have we ever done that?
President Andrew Jackson intended to destroy the central banking system that was facilitating our boom/bust economy. In discussing the Bank Renewal bill with a delegation of bankers in 1832, he said, "Gentlemen, I have had men watching you for a long time, and I am convinced that you have used the funds of the bank to speculate in the breadstuffs of the country...You tell me that if I take the deposits from the bank and annul its charter, I shall ruin ten thousand families. That may be true, gentlemen, but that is your sin! Should I let you go on, you will ruin fifty thousand families, and that would be my sin! You are a den of vipers and thieves. I intend to rout you out, and by the eternal God, I will rout you out."
During all of this, our banking system started what is called "fractional banking." A short video at the end of our post will explain what that is and how we still use this unsound, dangerous practice. Because of fractional banking, if there is a crisis and you run to the bank and take your money out, the banks will collapse.
In closing, through time we can see how the banks continued to encroach upon true free trade and how most of the warnings of our Founders were ignored. Coming up, we'll take a very brief look at how our Federal Reserve System came to be in the first place.
Before you go, please watch this 4-minute video on fractional banking and how we create money. It's all make-believe.

Constitutionally-Sound Money
This essay is not as boring as the title suggests. Before we get into the meat of inflation, we need to understand exactly what our Founding Fathers believed about money. For many Americans, this will be something brand new. As we dive into this subject, my heartfelt thanks goes out to John McManus – president of the John Birch Society – for providing the public with such great research material.
Article 1, Section 8 of the US Constitution addresses the limits to the Legislative Branch of the federal government. In regards to money, it states that Congress is allowed: “To coin money, regulate the value thereof, and of foreign coin, and fix the standard of weights and measures.” Since our states were (and should still be) viewed as free and independent states, our Founders were worried that the states would still try to use their own currency instead of a federal currency. Therefore, Article 1, Section 10 explains that states cannot “coin money [or] emit bills of credit [and cannot] make anything but gold and silver coin a tender in payment of debts.”
Our Founders believed in the soundness of money either made from gold and silver, or at least money backed by gold and silver. Bills of credit – what we call fiat money, or money that is not backed by precious metals – was deeply frowned upon by most fiscally responsible governments. During the Revolution, the federal government (under the Articles of Confederation) constantly printed bills called “Continentals” which were not backed by anything. The British assisted in our mass-inflation by counterfeiting our currency and dumping it into the system. Therefore, one of the goals of our Founders was to prevent our new currency from becoming worthless – that means, NO BILLS OF CREDIT!
Knowing that gold and silver were always going to have value, our Constitution specifically mentions their use as our currency. Our Founders felt so strongly against paper money backed by nothing that they almost prevented the Nation’s creation. Connecticut’s Oliver Ellsworth wanted to “shut and bar the door against paper money.” Pennsylvania’s James Wilson wanted to “remove the possibility of paper money.” South Carolina’s Pierce Butler wanted to guarantee, “disarming the government of such power.” Summing up everyone’s thoughts, New Hampshire’s John Langdon said, “I would rather reject the whole Constitution” than allow the government to create valueless paper currency.
Of course, we’ve thrown out all of this common sense logic. Demonizing our Founders as racists from an outdated era, we ignore their warnings and wisdom instead of listening to them so that we could have avoided our current pitfalls.
In our next chapter, we’ll look into our past for a little while longer, learning about the fights against having a national bank and our federal government’s eventual acceptance of “bills of credit.”

Tell them the Constitution Party sent ya!

You've Been Robbed
For the rest of the year, I will be making posts about the government's most dangerous tax - inflation. Every move the government makes is taking money out of your pocket. Instead of bombarding you with one huge essay, I'm going to split it up into as many parts as it takes.
The government continues to print money on demand. That $700 billion they asked for has now become $1.75 trillion. Companies do day-to-day business through short-term loans called "commercial paper." Our economy uses $99.4 billion in commercial paper every day - now the Fed has just agreed to fund these loans. That should make Wall Street happy, right? Except the Dow fell another 508 points. The Dow has lost over 1,400 points in the last five days and over 30% of it's value since last year. Over the past 15 months, Americans have lost over $2 trillion of their retirement accounts because of government policies that helped hand out mortgages to anyone with a pulse.
If things are bad in the United States, they are worse in Europe. Iceland has announced that their Nation is on the brink of bankruptcy. British banks are in a freefall - the Royal Bank of Scotland's value dropped by 39% this morning, losing them over $20 billion.
American banks are suffering as well. Bank of America, making headlines several years ago when they dropped most of their identification requirements, reported their third-quarter earnings have fallen by 68% - can you smell another dead bank?
This bailout has worked well, hasn't it? It's worked so well, that states and cities have jumped on the bandwagon - California, Massachusetts, and New York City (all liberal/socialist meccas) have gone broke and want bailouts of their own. At least Congress is taking it seriously. Rep. Barney Frank, one of the leading architects of our financial disaster, is saying that Republican criticism of the crisis is motivated by racism. "They get to take things out on poor people. Let's be honest: The fact that some of the poor people are black doesn't hurt them either, from their standpoint. This is an effort, I believe, to appeal to a kind of anger in people." Tell me, Mr. Frank - is this similar to Obama's opinion that small-town Americans are bitter racists that cling to God and guns?
Our government is blind, but you shouldn't be. As I am learning, I will write and try to explain things. Some of you might already know this stuff while others might be hearing it for the first time. Either way, I hope I can do whatever I can to fight our government's refusal to get out of the way and stop destroying our currency.
Think about it this way - if we lost $2 trillion from our retirement accounts because of the stock market, how much more will we lose by these bailouts and Federal Reserve policies? Over the next couple of months, we're going to discuss just that.

Death by Political Correctness
In 1994, Citibank was the target of a class action lawsuit. The bank refused to give loans out to clients that had little or no credit and were low-income. After threats of lawsuits did not result in the desired flow of money, Citibank was accused of having racist loan practices. Eventually, because of the bad press this would create, Citibank settled the lawsuit out of court. Who was the attorney that brought up this case? Barack Obama.
Any discussion of our current financial crisis cannot be complete without reflecting upon the damage caused by political correctness. A great article in Tuesday’s Philadelphia Bulletin does a great job giving you this snapshot. Basically, in the 1970’s the Carter Administration helped usher in the Community Reinvestment Act. This would require banks to put money back into their communities. In 1992, the Boston Federal Reserve Bank did a study of the lending practices of these banks and reported to Congress that there was indeed racism in banking lending practices. The case they sighted was where a white guy and a black guy both went in to buy a house for $60,000. The black man didn't get the loan even though his net worth was stated as $10 million. The bank didn't give a $60,000 loan to a guy who had $10 million in assets? After Congress latched onto this “crisis,” a university looked into the Boston Fed’s report and found that it was filled with mistakes. It turns out that the black man had only $1,000 in assets, not $10 million, but Congress refused to backpedal. The flames of racism had already been fanned and Congress knows that this means more money and power.
All of the policies we are ridiculing and complaining about in today’s crisis were implemented in 1992, when Congress declared the original policies as racist. They revised the Community Reinvestment Act so that banks would no longer be racists by asking people to verify their income or by not giving loans out to war zones in Philadelphia and Detroit. The banks created what was known as “sub prime mortgages.” In 1994, less than 5% of mortgages were sub prime. By 2006, 20% of new mortgages were sub prime. Clinton and Bush could stand in front of the Nation and proudly declare that we had more homeownership now than ever before – isn’t that great? Alan Greenspan supported it. The CEO of Freddie Mac supported it. The LA Times wrote an editorial that praised Democrats for this great development for American homeowners.
The insanity didn’t stop here. President Bush wanted bigger numbers to brag about and pushed for legislation that would help low income families pay for their initial down payment. This was quickly followed by his zero down payment initiative, which eliminated the requirement of a minimum 3% down payment for FHA-insured single family mortgages. This insanity continued as banks, scared of being accused of racism, started lending to illegal aliens by not requiring clients to show identification when applying for a loan. Easy credit continued as people started paying adjustable rate mortgages, interest-only mortgages, and could borrow up to 125% of their house’s value.
Politicians clamored for opportunities to prove they were not racists. Ex-AG Janet Reno promised “vigorous enforcement” against the racist practices of every bank and every loan. Barney Frank demanded that Boston’s racism be addressed. Chris Dodd, posing for pictures with Jesse Jackson, bragged about helping pass the revisions that made everything possible. Frank’s efforts at reform were a little less successful – after placing his boyfriend in a position in Fannie (insert joke here), his boyfriend retired…to sell pottery. No, these aren’t tears from laughter.
One of the most instrumental groups screaming racism is ACORN. When J.P. Morgan and Chase Bank merged, one of the first things they did was make a massive donation to ACORN. This was one of the groups screaming that the original lending policies were racist. They promised banks that any mergers and new branches would be met with massive protests in the streets and lawsuits in the courts. In the original bailout legislation, 20% of the profits created through the bailout would be awarded to ACORN and other civil rights groups. ACORN employees have been arrested multiple times for voter fraud by creating fake voter registration forms. In Washington State, three plead guilty to creating 2,000 fake voter registration cards by copying out of the phone book. Barack Obama was an employee of ACORN. Barack Obama trained ACORN’s activists. One of the key “changes” Obama is promising is getting more people to participate in groups like ACORN – to “be involved” in their communities.
Finally, one of the leading financial contributors to the failed Freddie and Fannie was the Congressional Black Caucus – just listen to Fannie’s CEO explain how the Caucus is his “family,” much like how Obama had recently described ACORN as his “family.”
Is there racism in America from every side? I am sure of it. But are there vultures that prey on the calls of racism for their own personal and financial gain? Just ask Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton, and Barack Obama.
Government, greed, irresponsibility, and political correctness have destroyed our financial system and our currency. Until people get a backbone and refuse to be bullied and blackmailed, these cancers of our society will continue to wield their power until all that will be left of America are its ashes.

The Senate's Bailout
If the original bailout bill was going to kill our currency, the new Senate version is going to dig it up, run over it a few times, and then bury it again. The Senate has passed the $700 billion bailout. Now you will be able to tell your grandchildren where you were when the US government turned our currency into toilet paper. The Senate plan, approved 74-25, might even get approved by the House now. Starting at three pages two weeks ago, this plan has ballooned to 451 pages thanks to the House and Senate getting their claws into it and this bill not only keeps the provisions we spoke about last time, but bribes Congressmen and States into accepting its poison.
If you have unlimited time, you can try to read the bill here. Many people believe the bill will pass the House because it will appeal to enough "no voters" to succeed. In the new version, the Senate added $110 billion in tax breaks for businesses and the middle class, plus a provision to raise FDIC insurance from $100,000 to $250,000. The FDIC will always be able to cover your assets, no matter how low or high the limit is - do you know why? Because they will always print enough money to cover you. It doesn't matter what the limit is; it is only for show. Case-in-point: The FDIC would be allowed to borrow unlimited money from the Treasury Department through the end of next year as a way to cover the increased insurance limit. Print, print, print some more. So not only did we turn on the printing presses for all of the bailouts this year, but now they want more and more and more printed. Does anyone see how this will destroy our currency?
The bailout portion of the bill is still the same - unlimited executive power will be given to our Treasury secretary to seize assets, nationalize companies, and print unlimited money on demand. So, if this was so bad before, then why are House Republicans starting to change their tune? It is because the government has done what they always do when threats don't work - they bribe. The bill extends several tax breaks for businesses, keeps the alternative minimum tax from hitting 20 million middle-income Americans, gives funding for rural schools out west, and provides $8 billion in tax relief for those hit by natural disasters in the Midwest, Texas and Louisiana. It also extends the deductibility of state and local taxes for people in states without income taxes (I always love giving tax breaks to people that don't pay taxes). These are bribes directed to the people and lawmakers of the South, West, and Midwest.
I think it's horrible and unfortunately I am cynical enough about my government to believe it will work. The people and lawmakers of States that prefer to live off the government have become slaves and it saddens me to see their tricks possibly working again. Don't like a bill? Well, we only need three more votes, so let's offer Iowa more corn subsidies. Wow, we almost have enough votes? Well, let's give some money to NJ for beach replenishment. Breaking my heart, it works almost every single time.
I am thankful to the Senators with a backbone that voted against this bill for all the right reasons. Sen. Jim DeMint, R-S.C. said the bailout was "leading us into the pit of socialism." New Jersey's worthless Senators voted happily for the bill. Now it will go back to the House where many expect it to pass. Since my representative thought it originally did such a great job "putting America's interests first," I can only assume how much greater his love will be for this abomination.
So, if it passes we'll not only continue the original plan of paying for the pensions of retiring state, local, and union workers, expand the power of the Treasury, print our currency out of existence, raise prices so high that food and gas will barely be affordable, but we'll get some tax cuts, too! Oh, and it also gives people with mental illness better health insurance coverage, which I know belongs in any bill on economic recovery.
And by the way, the bill doesn't even designate a way to pay for many of the tax cuts. After you're done telling this story to your grandchildren, remember to ask them to thank their grandchildren for trying to pay this debt off.
